He turns 40 in three months, and this latest win means he is the oldest surfer to take out theAssociation of Surfing Professionals championship. Twenty years ago he became the youngest to win the trophy in 1992.The only person to get close to him in surfing is Australia's Layne Beachley with seven ASP crowns. "Why stop? He could go on to win not only 12 but 13, 14, who knows?" Beachley said yesterday. "The guys (on tour) were probably wishing that with nearing 40 and having made No 10 - because he was always destined to be a 10-time world champion - Kelly would drift off into the sunset," she said. "Now that he's won his 11th it's obvious the only person who can stop him is him.
